It is a  wet day here today in Bandon and quite breezy too. Still what can we do? We can’t control the weather mores the pity. Anyway to make the day a bit better here are some items I have knitted and crocheted a while back. The first picture is a child’s cardigan. I love this as it is knitted in one piece up to the armholes, I also like the pattern in it. I used 100% wool so it is nice and warm. The second is wool from Aldi. It is a lemon sparkle yarn and so easy to knit. I like the scallop edging on the neck and one button. The the next is something completely different, a crocheted owl. Some of my friends would tell you I love owls, and so of course I had to crochet one. They can be made in any colour which makes it fun really. Then we have the last picture which is my Christmas wreath which is always on my door only at Christmas!!, I decided to make a frosted looking wreath, so I used a grey sparkle and white sparkle wool, and knitted holly leaves and berries and I think it looks really good. That is all for today, so I hope you like these. It has started raining again so there is only one thing to do and that is to get back to the knitting. Talk to you all again soon. Enjoy your weekend whatever you may be doing.

Baby Cardigan   Leave a comment

Here I am back again after a few years away from publishing anything. It is nice to be back too. The weather here in Bandon is a bit overcast, I hope it doesn’t rain.

Anyway, onto things knitting. As you might know I love knitting and crocheting, baby items in particular as they don’t take long to do and there is such a great range of wool

out there now to use.

This is my latest item which I finished while ago. It is a copied pattern. I used Rico Baby Prints which is 100% acrylic but so soft to use, so it will be nice and soft against baby’s skin. It is machine washable, but having said that I would use a very gentle wash.

If you are interested in it you can get in contact with me through Knitted Toys and Jumpers on Facebook.

The cream bag is an Aran wool bag. The flap is moss stitch with a tassel. The main body of the bag has cables. On the back there are 2 straps so you can wear the bag on your back. The other bag is made of squares and the pattern is the African flower. The handles are plastic. both bags are lined. The dolls are Morag and Bertie Bloomer. I was really proud of Bertie as I entered him into Skibbereen show which was in July and he won 1st prize. I have since sold him. Morag has also been sold to the same person who bought Bertie. Then I have Olaf the Snowman which I really enjoyed crocheting. He is made in one piece. My gorgeous grandson has him. The rest of the things are baby clothes. Little Kitty Jumper

Hi everyone. What do you think of the picture on the right?I am knitting this for my aunt’s friend’s daughter. It is knitted by using  a chart (Intarsia). All the knit rows, which are the right side are knitted right to left from the chart and the purl rows, which are the wrong side, is knitted  left to right. For each colour, you have to use separate pieces of wool and wind them round so that you don’t end up with a gaping hole. It all takes time and patience but well worth it when you see it finished. You then have to darn in all the stray pieces at the back. I like this type of knitting as it can be rewarding and therapeutic!! So that’s it for now folks, so until the next time…..Happy knitting.
